Unfortunately, Romney has his own criticisms of Reagan:

"Look, I was an independent during the time of Reagan-Bush. I’m not trying to return to Reagan-Bush,"

From a debate between Romney and Ted Kennedy in 1994.

Gingrich reportedly insulted Reagan (h/t Drudge)

Gingrich might have disagreed with Reagan on methodology......but not on policy goals. This attack from the Romney camp that Gingrich was anti Reagan is just plain bullshit.
And Nancy Reagan, Reagan’s wife, has stressed Gingrich’s close relationship with her late husband.

In a 1995 speech at a dinner honoring Ronald Reagan,Nancy said: “The dramatic movement of 1995 is an outgrowth of a much earlier crusade that goes back half a century. Barry Goldwater handed the torch to Ronnie, and in turn Ronnie turned that torch over to Newt and the Republican members of Congress to keep that dream alive.”

No way in hell Nancy Reagan would have said anything at all complimenting Newt had Newt said even one bad word ever about Ronnie.

The most incredible thing is Romney trying to portray himself to the right of Newt. Complete nonsense.

Gingrich has his faults. But if he gets the nomination I can enthusiastically support him. He's a conservative and a fighter. Is he electable? I think so but I'm certainly not sure. Will women vote for him? Independents?
If Santorum showed a wider appeal, I'd support him in a heartbeat. He won the debate hands down Thursday. He was an absolute rock. Conservative? Yes, A fighter? Yes, Acceptable to women? Yes, To Evangelicals? Yes, To independents? Yes But if he doesn't do well in Florida.......he is likely finished. I can't change that. The mainstream press portrays him as a loser. Maybe we need a brokered convention to get him the nomination. The establishment won't tolerate Gingrich and the grass root real conservatives can't stomach Romney. I can't either. I look at him in the eye and just know he is not a real conservative. He will not repeal Obamacare......will only attack the Washington establishment around the edges...............we need an absolute revolution to reverse course on so many issues. I can't see Romney fighting anybody or anything EXCEPT to get elected.
