Art, I too believe the lack of the client SSD does make them another run of the mill producer, a commodity. They have been slow to do anything in the consumer SSD space of any relevance, a big disappointment.

Then Apple marks up their 'cheap' NAND 400% to maintain THEIR margins.

Apple relies on the Average Joe being oblivious to the true cost of their components.
That's why they do not permit memory cards/add-on capability for their devices.

An uneducated consumer is Apple's best customer.
