I think Obama should approve the Keystone project "in principle", pending the results of the findings for routing the pipeline through areas such as Nebraska etc. When Obama is on public record as saying that job creation is his number one priority, people are expecting his to demonstrate that. And he has failed to do so with his decision on Keystone. He is definitely losing the upper hand he gained during the Republican party's fiasco with the tax credit extension before the Christmas break.

I agree completely. Obama's recent decision on keystone felt like a bit of pandering although concerns over the aquifer in NE must be addressed before the pipeline can be built.

I also think we need to be developing our natural gas industry and converting commercial vehicles to NG usage as Obama suggested yesterday. This country has vast NG reserves that can counter our dependency on foreign oil. We are a long way off from the days of burning off the NG to get at the oil

I presume these environmentalists are rich bastards like Romney. They have so much money that they do not need to work. While Romney is making money by pushing money, these environmentalists are even worse in that they are pushing their pet political ideologies on the backs of the unemployed.

Edit: I take offense to this characterization because I have been the one most posting anti-Keystone material here. If you felt this way, posting this nastiness in the middle of the night and not addressed to me is pure cowardice, Chinu.

Some of them may be but that assertion that even most of them are is absolutely untrue(which includes myself). Go to Facebook and plug in "tar sands." People from all walks of life are over there....

Have you not read the State Dept's letter to congress that I posted here? THey said explicitly that the pipeline brings NO economic(jobs included) benefit, in any way but makes the US carry all the risk....

Edit: Did you not here his SOTU where he essentially said that he will not endanger our environment for oil fat cats enrichments?

I'll dig it up for you if you had not seen it.......

I'm concerned that both you and BUTW are hanging on to stereo types of who the environmentalists are. Who are the people supporting them in droves....and they are inaccurate for 2012, I'm afraid.
