Hence it is a tall order to expect that I should post on this topic to you. Thanks for the clarification even if I find it surprising as the moderator of this board. In my view, not knowing that I'm anti-Keystone is like not knowing MM was anti bank bailouts ;-) Moving on....I agree that Obama is not doing a good enough job getting the truth out to the mainstream re: the real numbers of jobs, the real what amounts to non-economic(positive) impact of KXL project. That's why I post about it here<g> Labor unions are corrupt just like the politicians. They can be bought for pretty cheap, actually. And for all we know, they were lied to just like everyone else...there's sort of a civil war going on within the union community about it.. Those against and for the KXL are fighting about it.... No, I don't think oil is evil. I drive a car that runs on gasoline only. I can't afford an electric are. But I do want us as a society to wean off of it as soon as possible---which will pay dividends in all sorts of ways, economically and environmentally. Look at China's and Germany's investments in alternative energy.... Also oil and bitumen from the tar sands are very different. One common proponent reasoning is "we've got many pipelines criss-crossing the country." But very few of them are carrying bitumen...transported in pipes made in exUSA(much lower quality)....Keystone 1 is a cautionary tale. If you put a search for this right here on this board you'll find all the posts substantiating what I'm saying right now....I have indicated several times in the past that I am against any organized form of political action. As a firm believer in democracy, I only support organized political activities resulting from the spontaneous reaction of the general masses as evidenced during the downfall of the USSR from mass demonstrations in Moscow square, the Tahrir squares in Tunis, Libya and hopefully soon to be in Damascus. Not for any organized political activities such as those of labor unions, environmentalists, the rich people etc. I'm confused and not sure what you mean here. The fact remains, Chinu, that you and me and everyone else here has the same wishes for our country and I think that I need to constantly remember that when these differences come up.....
