if it's zero sum, and the population has been constantly increasing, why hasn't everyone been getting poorer?

if it's zero sum, where was all the wealth back in the caveman days? was it all in some secret cave?

The answer is simple koan. If demand for a certain commodity grows its price will rise and people will chose other things.

The issue of zero sum is the critical issue of our time. If one believes in zero sum then that person has to think in terms of taking to make the lot of others better. If one does not believe in zero sum one thinks of creating to make the lot of others better.

In years of jousting with the Robin Hoods of our day this is the critical issue. The zero sum gang will demonize us as evil and selfish - all the while condemning millions to a life of poverty.

The issue is not who cares - but how to care best. I do not see why this is so difficult but it is. Half of me thinks that the zero sum argument is simply political to fool the ignorant for their votes as many who make the argument cannot be so stupid as to believe it.
