Not sure what you mean by this....>>>>Instead of lifting the poor up and allowing them to realize the American dream, they'll remain where they are.<<<<<

Do you mean MORE welfare? Seems to me that for the last nearly 80 years, we have given the poor BILLIONS of dollars.....and yet, way to many of these folks now have come to expect Uncle Sugar to continue the dole....

PLUS the churches of all kinds cater to the poor..... There are many more scholarships for the poor than there are for kids of middle income people.....

Or did you mean strip ALL welfare payments for a bit, and see where we are...just start over with everyone and see who needs money and who doesn't....Who needs food stamps and who doesn't.....Who is spending what kind of government money on what kind of items..... ???

What I would propose to EVERYONE, no matter their income, is...."If It's To Be, It's Up To Me".....

that "class thing" is just obnoxious..... I can handle low, middle, upper middle and high INCOME people, but not with the word "Class" behind those words.....)

There is a difference in how the two candidates philosophically are approaching the economic problems in the USA. Romney appears to be depending on the 'middle class' while not recognizing that the economic 'middle class' no longer exists.

The middle class economically of the past 20 years are the new poor. Obama has succeeded in his redistribution of all assets as he promised before he was elected.
