TED, Come on! This is the closest thing to a fraud I have seen since Bre-X!
Maybe you're a "technical skeptic", but have you ever heard of a CEO revealing material information in private conversations to potential investors? Check out Corey's posts and/or Jack King's comments during the July conference call! With respect to Zitel, I'm both a technical and a management skeptic!!! No Silver Bullet, but "Jack said" ... <G>

Now Zitel introduces the "Zitel Broadcasting Network" to get their message out. Check out: zitel.com For a company with NO Y2K business, NO Y2K customers, NO Y2K contracts, NO Y2K revenues - they sure like to talk!

Best Regards, (good luck with FBN)
Bill

Ted,

The part that stuck out in my mind was the statement that Z's cost per line of code was high because "they did so much more". If the methodology and automated tools are as good as they claim, one would think that they could undercut the going rate by a wide margin.

Also, I still just don't get the "mobile code factory" concept.

Thanks for posting the links.

Ted,
re: I didn't see anything that stood out like a sore thumb.

Didn't you find the following quote to be misleading?:
<<Ed Mulhall: So what would- let me interrupt, what we do for our folks is equate it to your PCs at home you have a hard drive that may have anywhere from 100 megs or a gigabyte of storage. We're talking about the equivalent for mainframes and minicomputers and distributed processing that are much larger. Give us an order of magnitude how much larger than say, what's typically on a PC.

Art Chait: Oh my goodness, you're talking about a million times larger. But the issue is not storage. I mean anybody can link together a lot of disk drives. >>

Zitel's biggest CASD system on their web page is 1 terabyte, or 1000 times the low end 1 gigabyte new PC system's hard drive. This million times larger figure is a lie. Either Art doesn't know technology (or can't do his math), or he's a master hypster. Which do you think it is?

Hi, TED,

Is there anything in particular that leads you to believe that Zitel management can now be believed? As long as I can remember, they have been making empty promises.

I do not mean to be asking you "leading" questions. Because you are "neither long nor short," and an authority on programming, you are uniquely qualified (on this thread, anyway, and to my knowledge) to serve as an unbiased source of informed opinion. Therefore, despite my natural predisposition completely to discount Chait's story, I would really appreciate hearing your take on it.

Thanks,
RB
