I heard Rush comment yesterday that Romney is advocating an inflation adjustment for minimum wage? If so, than this is one of the most idiotic suggestions I heard in a long time. Mandatory cost of living adjustments are the best way to trigger hyperinflation.

yep, but otoh, maybe that is a way to keep the idiot fed's money printing under control, they are truly afraid of 'wage inflation'....obviously they don't give a whit about seniors (witness bernanke's testimony yesterday)

"'Poor' Mitt Romney: His 5 worst verbal gaffes

By MACKENZIE WEINGER | 2/1/12 3:42 PM EST

With his remark Wednesday that he's "not concerned about the very poor," Mitt Romney is getting quite the reputation for gaffes (despite mentioning in the same breath that the poor have a safety net). POLITICO looks back at 5 other much-criticized off-the-cuff comments Romney's made this cycle that would have been better off had he put them differently:

1. "Corporations are people, my friend." — Aug. 11, 2011, to a heckler at the Iowa State Fair.

2. "I like being able to fire people." – Jan. 9, 2012, while speaking about holding insurance service providers accountable.

3. "I should tell my story. I'm also unemployed." — June 16, 2011, after listening to a group of unemployed Floridians talk about their difficulties find a job.

4. "I know what it's like to worry whether you're going to get fired. There were a couple of times I wondered whether I was going to get a pink slip." – Jan. 8, 2012, speaking at a rally about sharing the anxiety of workers worried about losing their jobs.

5. "Rick, I'll tell you what — ten thousand bucks? Ten thousand dollar bet?" — Dec. 10, 2011, to Rick Perry during a presidential debate trying to settle a dispute about health insurance."

6. I'm not concerned about very poor people. (the other day)

7. "Mitt Romney: We Are The Only People Who Put Their Hand Over Our Hearts During The National Anthem

He ran the Olympics, he should know better."

politico.com

He said the last two things all within a 24 hour period. That must be some kind of record?

Mitt Romney is a socialist and is as dumb as rocks.

It's just amazing to me that more people don't 'see' that.....>>>>> Mandatory cost of living adjustments are the best way to trigger hyperinflation. <<<<<

We go to the grocery store, see prices are up again, and some people wonder why....Mandatory cost of living adjustments or minimum wage increases...

We go out to eat, and see the prices way up....more complaints....but not many stop to think why....Mandatory cost of living adjustments or minimum wage increases...

ETC

For every such increase that is mandatory, the employer either has to raise prices, or cut staff. There is NO FREE LUNCH!!

Wouldn't it be better to have more increase in sales, thus more profit, thus more pay increases and fewer price hikes for the consumer???

And one more thing... >>>>When prices keep going up, but salaries lag - people will tighten their belts.<<<<

Yes, they will tighten belts.....BUT in that process, the company has a greater chance of going out of business. We see that almost daily everywhere.

There is a limit to what business can charge without people leaving that business or product.

Its called the Law of diminishing returns.....and following that is the Law of the Bad drives out the Good....

It also prevents more first time workers from entering the workforce, puts small companies out of business and is anti-jobs.
