Cathedral (french & latin= Cathedra) or Kathedra from the Greek root from kata "down" + hedra seat, base, chair , the term "kathedrikos naos" (literally: "cathedral shrine") is sometimes used for the church at which an archibishop or "Metropolitan" presides. The term metropolis literally "mother city" is used more commonly than "diocese" to signify an area of control of the church . Perhaps one of the great changes in human evolution is when men weren't required to go on hunts and there came the specialization of priests who had far too much time allowed to be sitting down on their seats ...if you know what i mean . Now i understand why its important that the greater Prophets maintained at least one great pilgrimage in ones life ...if only to get a good look around .;o)
