"Have you ever been to church and seen the light?"

Enough of that!

Yes, agreed. Churches are intended to inspire awe and/or mystery just as the sky full of lights does--and there have been some great architectures and light shows!

Whenever I travel I make it a point to visit the old church which is invariably there for tourists to walk through--sometimes even still in use for saving souls! Of course the money of the One True Church did not always reach to these wooden temples of Jesus, as the church sometimes travelled faster than her money could!

But there was always a light in the eyes of the Priest, and before Science exploded the absurdity of the bible as a factual and intelligent account...there were believers and leaders who were neither delusional nor frauds. Today, they truly MUST be one or the other if we discount infants and children from the equation.

And that allows us to assess people on SI with tools of fact. Surely, these fanatics may look and act normal in their community (or they may not) but the fact remains, they are like normal looking people at an Scientology get together or an Eckankar sing-song--beneath the surface there is a supernatural substrate of jinns and demons and evil spirits and witches and always the worship of some master or series of "masters" living or dead. Unlike young Jesus, some modern masters are also prolific writers and organizers...
