I respectably disadree. If you build a interState highway system like Eisenhower did for example; the demand for materials etc is HUGE. Not only is that demand huge, but all those working on the project now have big money in their pocket and they spend that creating more demand - and so on. I picked that project as an example because it was under a republican President. There are many examples. Clearly the government can manipulate demand.
