ATPG bit the dust. i know i expressed reservations about this one a couple of years ago. when a company goes belly up and I had looked at it. I try to go back and see what happened. Here the very post i saw in May of 2010 noted that the bonds were at a yield to maturity of 18% thus pricing in a high likelihood of default, that coupled with a company ceo with a history of not delivering on his promises were some pretty strong warning signs. In retrospect it was a bit like people who buy goods on credit and dont try to negotiate the price because they know they are never going to pay for the goods. I have been frequently told that the bond market is a much better guage of likely bankruptcy than the equity markets , seems true in this case.
now the question is whether there some publicly trade debt worth buying?
