Buck and all,

Haven't found anything specific about IDX and ASCOM. But... IDX certainly fits the bill for ASCOM, I don't think ASCOM will be shopping from IDXs competitors...(my opinion).

ASCOM
(Info from web pages.)

Ascom is an internationally active Swiss telecommunications and
service automation group, (ATMs, Vending machines, Ticket dispensing machines. Seems to be getting into the self service banking mode...) with 12 000 employees worldwide.

Ascom EBS's special area of activity is the banking and financial world, where it has successfully developed innovative concepts and products that are perfectly designed to meet the needs of your customers.
The products can be organized under the following headings:
1- automated money-handling systems
2- transaction-, information-, multimediasystems
3- area security / entrance surveillance

Buck,

The only thing that I could find that IDX and Ericsson has in common is that they both have a thread on SI. Will continue to looooook...

Buck, OFF TOPIC
(Ericsson) Still haven't found the IDX tie that binds... But some news that hints (to me anyway) that maybe (again, just speculating) that somehow, some sort of algorithm would have to be used for authentication. Seems to me that a cell phone could have it's own fingerprint, i.e., an ID number, electrical signature, even the telephone number itself, or some sort of template embedded in each unit. That would only identify the unit however and not the user. Seems to me the best way to identify the user would be speech recognition. Is Randys' algorithm usable here? It would be nice if were. Sorry but the puzzle seems to be growing. Might answer part of Hals' remark on what's after the INS, and that the software is the IDX future. Will you give me a hint on how you came by the Idx and Ericsson connection?

Again, omo, NO FACTS to justify, or to support, just speculating, guessing, hoping, etc., etc., etc... But still looking at the puzzle.
