Your post is indeed rambling. On 11/14 you bought into the Dd stocks for some reason than sold and are putting the money into ASND??????

Your next to last paragraph "I think we have..." contains information that is several years old. You need to get current. There is furious activity both within the telecos and the cable co. bandwidth is increasing dramatically to the end user. Ever hear of @home as one example????

Jonathon - thanks A LOT for all your thoughts re: WDC et al. I agree with you wholeheartedly about the future and the longterm efficacy of technology. Today, in the LA Times, there was an article about growth industries for '98 and computers and related gear are #1.

<<What I am doing is NOT buying anymore WDC at these prices.>> I'm also in agreement here. My cost on WDC is high 30's and I like the price at this level. But until smarter people than I start getting back into the stock, I'm going to wait it out.

Most of my portfolio is in the techs. COMS, CPQ, INTC, MSFT etc. My gambling money goes to "good ideas or good stories" such as AMTX, HPRT etc. I was fortunate to get into the above techs a while back so my per share cost is reasonable and worth hanging around. (I don't day trade.)

Here's an unsolicited "tip" that is INCREDIBLY SPECULATIVE. CSMA is a bb stock. I bought at .65 two weeks ago. It's now $1.30ish. There's a thread - lots of hype - but who the hell knows.

Again, thanks for your time and thoughts.

Peter
