Who continue to receive until death. Their progeny do the same ad infinitum. That is what is wrong.

You didn't answer my question, let me repeat...

Ken,

Do you think increased dependence on the federal government, no matter how you measure it, is a good thing?

Ken

Daniel Patrick Moynihan of New York after working to solve the welfare problems in which people never get out of the track, finally noted at the end of his life that the welfare programs were not the solution by the government .

The solution was to involve the people in need in helping them to be a part of the solution-----not to just be recipients of Government welfare that has for generations locked people into a system from which there were few options to move out of the system.

Moynihan's idea was very astute. It's unfortunate that he, a true Liberal who happened to be a Democrat , not an Obama Socialist, did not serve longer in order to make this concept a part of the welfare concepts.

Hopefully you have copies of his books in which he articulated his conclusions-------if not buy them.

Those programs are needed and are not harmful to those receiving the benefits.

Are they harmful to the people paying for those benefits?
Is it beneficial to individuals to create a culture where people expect others to provide for their basic needs?
