Carol, I can see no better place than here to see what we all believe to be the truth of the matter. I'm really glad you brought it up, and look forward to the comments of those who might have some really good facts on the matter. We did a little of it before, discussing the love of creation as a manifestation of God.

Glad you stopped by this thread. Shalom is very prolific. And glad that he has attracted some more interest and discussion here. Agrre with you that accepting either description of our origins requires faith. This demonstrates that you are open-minded.

For me the choice between Creation and Evolution is also a choice between chance and purpose. That is, do events in this natural world unfold according to a purpose or by the chance interaction of many different individuals -- I have faith and believe there is a purpose behind everything -- not everything is "GOD's will" but there is a direction that everything is flowing to.

Some believe in an endless cycle of rebirth, but even these have a goal of "breaking that cycle." In each of us I believe is this desire for
'paradise,' utpoia, call it "what you will, " an idyllic place or state in which we are surrounded by love with a complete absence of fear. I believe I can conceive of it only because it truly exeists.

I was raised and taught of Jesus, His teachings, His life, but I did not accept blindly that this was the way to "paradise." I lived as I desired and found the life I was living was not leading me to where i wanted to be. Then I examined the teachings for myself ...

Again, glad you dropped in. Please feel welcome here. Anything you wish to discuss. Many folks more knowledgeable than me here. Enjoy.

Barry

Carol, one of the missing peices may be that scripture outlines a different timeline on creation than most talk about...
There is "one" interpretation of scripture that indicates the earth was created billions of yrs ago and Lucifer ruled this earth as an ark angel. then Lucifer rebelled and the war that happened then casued chaos and the earth had to be destroyed billions of yrs ago...
Then God re-created the earth in 6 days and the Adam and Adam era started.
(God named them both Adam, He didn't name one Adam and the other Eve)

I can mail you a very detailed book on this if you want.
The book can show you where all the scriptures are.
the creation Sceintist theory is completely different but most don't
relate it correctly either.
In both the gap and the creation scientist theory God leaves a ring of water around the earth when he re-created it...
Read the first few verses of genesis and you will see that a ring of water is left aruond the earth.
this ring of water was destroyed and poured to earth in the Noah flood..that's in gen chap. 6 and 7.

With the ring of water around the earth the speed of light is different.

But, He did create it and He commanded us to take care of it..
not polute it or mis-manage it and make His creatures extinct with abuse of natural laws.
