Sankar I think the greater worry (as you suggested earlier), and most likely correct, is that Yamaichi is not atypical in its practices and, thus, many brokerages are in the same boat with respect to how they have handled their finances as well as to the accuracy (ie inaccuracy) of their reports about same. It also sounds like a lot of the rise in the Tokyo market the past few days was due Yamaichi and other financial institutions buying back their own shares at a furious rate trying to re-instill confidence.
