I really don't see how life is any less a miracle because we evolved from some other form of life. Perhaps the story deviates too far from the text for our resident puritans to handle. All their sneering and smirking aside the truth does not preclude a creator but it does preclude ego and the truth as always requires some honesty. Somewhere along the way people became corrupted by putting their faith in dead idols.
