I've been burned both directions on anecdotal evidence from Oracle reps -- when i was negative I heard bad stuff and when I was positive i heard good stuff - neither was an indicator of the acutal results. ML analyst used to work for Oracle, so either he's got good information flow or he's carrying the party line. Oracle should pull off a decent quarter this q, easy dbms comparisons and if there isn't strong sales (read panic buying) of applications, look out below!

Those silly NC advertisements are a way for larry to strike out at Bill gates, the nc's don't really exist for consumer use yet, it's just a concept ad and will be irrelevant when personal computers are selling for $399 to $599 next year anyhow. But, it does show they've got the extra $ to play with right now. If this quarter were that weak i doubt they'd be blowing the dough just to stroke larry's ego...
