The hoods of our big cities have changed a lot since the mid 1960's. All the great society programs were a big failure IMHO.. I do think education, technology and seeing three generations of failure in da hoods are going to help empower the young generation to get out of the cycle.

Do you realize NYC was the greatest city on the planet in the 1950's even though a huge majority were poor less educated working class usually first and second generation immigrants? By 1975 too much of it had become a cesspool of drugs, crime, poverty, welfare, food stamps, government housing and racial division. What changed? As much as I always blast the GOP for Reaganomics on steroids the past 30+ years there is much more to the story of how we got to this point..
