What's stupid is your suggestion that AMD is secretly buying Pentiums, sanding and remarking them as K6's and then selling them at a 25% discount to the unsuspecting public.

This is what are you are suggesting, isn't it? It certainly is what you implied.

Aside from the fact that remarking Pentiums and taking a 25% (or more) loss doesn't make too much sense from an economic standpoint, I'm pretty confident that AMD would be in some deep legal trouble if they were doing this without disclosing it. Legal trouble from Intel, customers, and shareholders.

Spare us your paranoia. Despite its production problems, the K6 is a decent product.
