A civilian arms war in the USA is just sound ROI - Business Development for the firearms and ammo industry. The NRA is their strategic sales tool, through lobbying and pushing extreme laws.

The NRA no longer advocates for Americans shooting at targets, reasonable hunting, and gun safety. They advocate power and justice from the gun, ironically like the local Maoists promoted when I was in high school. Extremists, wrapped in the American flag and cop-killer bullets this time...

The NRA is the industry lobby and propaganda machine, where hypnotized followers are conditioned to be fearful of liberal boogeymen, and rabid against government, thought to be coming into their homes for their firearms. NRA hyperbole would have us preparing for a civil war.

Laws like 'Stand Your Ground" with growing liberal concealed weapons protections are an attack on civil enlightened society -- constitutional due process and civil rights (other than firearms), be damned.

The law is what is very disconcerting and I wonder why Jeb Bush, which I believe was Governor then, didn't veto it. Or was it because the law passed with the needed super majority. Who is to say that if I get cutoff on the road, I pull out my gun and shoot the driver and claim self defense under the circumstance that he tried to run me over.

I think the gun laws in this country are insane. England has much different gun laws. We should follow England's lead on this issue. BTW, that's not very Republican of me, is it?
