I'm really starting to question my belief in and defense of the Republican party. Look at the idiots and wack jobs who ended up as the leading contenders for president. While each has certain qualities conservatives can admire, one by one they have flamed out ceremoniously. Palenty turned out to be timid, Perry stupid, Bachmann possessed, Cain horny, Huntsman liberal, Gingrich vindictive, and Santorum crazy. (Note these are MY impressions - I'm sure some might disagree.) So we are left with a 76 year old libertarian who thinks America's global military presence constitutes an oppressive empire, and a gaffe-prone 'conservative' who has espoused and supported a lot of liberal positions in the past. By process of elimination Romney wins the nomination, but does anyone really feel good about this field or the process of selecting the nominee? What has happened to the Republican party?
