Shame on you Mq.. I stated I have read a bit about Victoria recently, *after seeing an ad* re: Tabloids ... The ad was on television ... Can be as bad as tabloids I guess.. Anyway ... Quite an assertion based on a false premise LOL I did discover that Victoria's views on empire in India for example, coincided exactly with statements which you have made on the idea of the British being much nicer exploiters of less civilised peoples than other exploiters ... Kind of like better to be in the British pot than the tribal fire ... More than little condescending... Some folks might want to toss out a stronger word :O)Of course that was far later in her reign than the film covers which, I doubt I will ever see... Was interesting to see someone endeavouring to present that side of her life though. Three nights sub zero now.. two to go.. Maybe the Queen and our Governor General and Lieutenant governors can all start their own country :O) Also had not realised that there were quite a few assassination attempts against her and that it would be wrong to assume (my assumption) to say that there was an undo Germanic influence upon her.. Seems her mom did try to keep her apart from the Bavarians :O) wacky weather... TBS
