I worked all thru school also (but usually only 10-15 hours a week) and every summer and ten days for the post office every Xmas. I think you're right about the student loan program. The light bulb went on for me when Gingrich pointed out that the Student Loan program has financed the runaway tuition rates. Before that I could never figure out why it was double the rate of inflation. Initially, a student loan was a debt dischargable in bankruptcy, but so many students filed for discharge upon leaving school that the government decided the program couldn't survive unless they outlawed this.
