OK, try these on for size: You don't buy BT if all you're doing is data-only remote access, for starters you buy BT for the flexibility and savings of having simultaneous remote PBX features. Also gone are busy POPs and the overloaded internet. Notice how web pages often load very slowly? Imagine trying to pull a spreadsheet during these times. Security is quite a bit better than any VPN arrangement. Know what you're also ignoring? The equipment & setup costs of a VPN. You should look further into the way these really work and their limitations.

Hey Drake, Nothing in this world is free you get what you pay for. "BT long distance expense/mo: $211.20 (.08x60x2x22) VPN long distance expense/mo: $0 (say it's $20 for unlimited ISP connect time)" Voice over the internet has a long way to go. Voice over a intranet. Well that's going to cost you a whole lot more than $20.00 a month. Plus, you'd be excluding the benfits of Be There in most of applications. I believe at this point in time VIP and Be There are mutualy exclusive. R. Allan Choiniere
