Open competition across state lines effectively takes away any state power to regulate health care in their state. It will be a race to the bottom as far as standards are concerned. Health care companies will base out of whatever state has the lowest standards so the end result is the lowest standards become the standards for all. That's what will happen if the right gets their way with open competition across state lines.
