about Condi Rice until I found out she voted for Obama because he is black.

Do you have a source for this statement?

>> I used to agree with you about Condi Rice until I found out she voted for Obama because he is black.

Based on an interview she gave during her book tour I, too, believe she voted for Obama, although when asked, she politely refused to give an answer.

While Obama has been a horrible disaster, one that was easily predictable based on his lack of competence to hold the office, I think she gets a pass on this. It is not amazing to me that a black woman would vote for Obama anymore than it is to me that Colin Powell would. It was a very proud moment for black Americans to be able to vote for a black man for president. These are people who still remember the era before Civil Rights and one could hardly expect them to have done otherwise.

I think Rice is one of the most competent individuals to hold the office of Secty/State during my lifetime and it just doesn't diminish her in my eyes. Powell disappointed me somewhat in that he actively campaigned for Obama; however, he has subsequently been more tepid having seen the disaster it brought.

I also think there isn't a snowball's chance in hell she would be drawn into a political race. She has repeated said it isn't happening and I believe her.

I find it tragic that the first black president wasn't someone like her who was totally qualified to hold the office.
