We almost achieved your imaginary ideal with the Contract with America. Short, to the point, contained realistic and relevant goals. Plus the politicians were being held accountable to it. Scared the crap out of them. They kicked the author of them, Gingrich out of congress, and effectively out of the party. Tore up the contract, burned it, peed on the ashes, and did everything they could to forget it.

Sorry for my in and out posting today. My 6 yr old grandson is staying with us for a few days, and he's pretty fun to play with. Imo the activists of today are the people who loved, supported and voted Ronald Reagan into office twice. The country stated going downhill after him and we remained silent until BO was elected. Then he proposed his horrible stimulus package and the TP was born. We are the true activists and we're taking names and making things happen. We'll hold Romney or any other republican's feet to the fire and if our demands aren't met there will be hell to pay. What is so very rewarding is to see the Party of Reagan come together with the activists of today. This Platform of 2012 for the Republican Party will be an expression of that coming together.
