Simply showing a video of him adding a catalyst would at most show that Bordynuik can do what many others can already do.

It doesn't take much to convince the saps who lose their money in these pinkie scams. USSE CEO had a guy roaring through the parking lot on a four-wheeler as "proof" of the Rivera "process". The sheeple ate it up.

Bordynuik raised money on his claim that he has a catalyst with special properties, allowing him to convert plastic to oil for $10/bbl.

The catalyst ain’t what it used to be. The one Bordynuik claims he discovered on some tape was taken to IsleChem where it was found to be out of date. They replaced a couple of elements that he called ‘uglies” and at that point it was a different catalyst. Let’s call it the IsleChem catalyst. According to Bordynuik this catalyst was in liquid form and was to be delivered into the Donghe machine by means of a special remotely controlled gadget that was specially designed to prevent skeptics from accessing the catalyst and determining its composition.

It is not clear when the IsleChem catalyst morphed from a liquid to a solid. Sometime during the epic tweakings of 2010 and 2011 a column with catalyst trays and cyclones was added to the process. The purpose of a catalyst tray is to hold a solid catalyst. With the completion of these additions and the pre-melt unit, the simple rotating drum furnace has become a homemade FCC unit that’s basically the same as all those schematics you find when you google “fluid catalytic cracking”. Bordynuik announced that the current version of the catalyst would be outsourced instead of being made in-house. This post-Islechem catalyst is in all likelihood a commercial FCC type.
