Deeno, can you share which MLP(s) caused the positive UBTI? I chose for my IRAs MLPs that tend to have negative UBTI (EPD, EPB, LINE) and limit my holdings of MMP to 400 shares since that tends to have a positive UBTI.

deeno, I started moving my MLP's out of my IRA's earlier this year. Percy and I would rather focus on drinking beer, working in the garden, cooking on the grill, and watching a few ball games. We don't need to worry about UBTI. Ha!

I decided I wanted my MLP's in the taxable account because the distributions are return of capital which means taxes are deferred until I sell, and I'm not selling. I've been wanting to lower my tax liability and MLP's help with that as long as they are in a taxable account.

I still have MLP exposure in the IRA via KMR and KMI. I don't have to worry about UBTI with them.
