Ah, I was just kidding. The bus came by our house every morning. I did walk over a mile in the afternoons, on all except terrible weather days, to avoid riding the bus all the way around the long bus route in order to be dropped off at home. Some days, though, on days of really nice weather, the bus would actually get to the house, before we had walked that mile, because we had to cross a bridge over a creek, and many times we stopped 'a few minutes' at the creek to skip rocks, fish, look for frogs, etc. Got more knowledge in biology from that creek than I ever did in school! LOL
