That was interesting. Lots of great stuff. Also showed how wrong so many people were just a few decades ago. Sure, we still don't really now how evolution works at the molecular level. In fact we may yet find out that Lamarkian's ideas are involved in evolution, as well as functions which allow for clumps of information that speeds up evolution in time.

Blue eyes are only thought to have evolved only 10 or 15,000 years ago. Black to white skin takes 20,000 years.

I am of two minds about the human species. Like Einstein, the fact we can even imagine the unvierse is amazing, but having said that, it seems we are all also more insane than we see or admit to. After a lifetime spent musing about the evolution of consciousness I find the human species less alert than I thought when young.

How anyone, let alone over 90% (?) of our population can continue to believe in the primitive myths of our forefathers, tells me something in us makes it hard for us to learn new things. It seems once we get imprinted to an idea in our youth it is very difficult to change our minds no matter what facts are subsequently introduced.
