That cable looks like it hooks up to the parallel cable that connects to your computer, not to connect direct to the printer.

You might have a problem with that cable. If you don't have Windows 7 drivers for your printer it may not work. I was going to go that route with my old parallel printer to USB and the computer store old me only a 50/50 chance of it working.

Let me know if it works.

From the comments on that printer cable:
Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Customer,
Thank you very much for purchasing this unit. We strive to provide the most reliable and highest quality products to our customers. Try downloading the Windows 7 64bit drivers from here: h10025.www1.hp.com. Does Windows see the printer when you are using the adapter? If so, then you just need to get drivers installed for the printer after that. XP and 7 use completely different drivers and if it works with XP, then that is great. That means that the printer works with XP. Windows 7 is a different story. There are some printers that do not have drivers for certain operating systems. The link I posted above should bring you to the Windows 7 64bit drivers. If you are still having issues after that, then I would recommend contacting HP for they may have a different driver that they can give you for your OS. If the printer is being seen by the OS, then I can say that the adapter is working. You just need to install the printer drivers after that. If it isn't being seen by the OS, then it may be a faulty adapter which we can assist you with a replacement. Thanks,

For the price you can't go wrong if it doesn't work.
