I have also heard rumors the state wants to put meters on private wells in order to charge for the water and regulate the flow, but that is just rumor. It's really hard to keep up with everything. That is outrageous. One more example of government out of control. Our lake place is on the Salish-Kootenai Reservation. The tribe owns the shoreline and you have to get a permit for any modifications like a dock. You have to pay the tribe a small annual fee. The tribe also owns subsurface water, so building lots with no well have to apply to the tribe. I do not know if or how much it charges.
