Wait, you are saying that IBM has been behind the big block trading of the past several weeks??? Is IBM planning on taking out ASND or just making a huge deal with them?? Why would they be buying the stock on the open market if they were not planning on aquiring them?? Captain, how reliable is this source and how close are they to the company??

IBM has been purchasing asnd stock, for 4 weeks now. Gary, can you confirm ?

I had heard a rumor about IBM looking to buy BAY this summer, but that it was turned down. If true, that might have caused IBM to look to ASND.

My theory is that IBM (or another entity) may in fact have threatened to take over ASND back on 11/11ish (remember when ASND was remarkably strong against a very, very weak market? Remember also the intense Nov. call activity...someone had expected something to pop in November)

I think that, perhaps, IBM's (or the other entity's) bid was rejected, or perhaps a poison pill (massive stock dilution) was threatened.

I think another suitor(s) is out there, with which ASND remains in discussions for a better price. That suitor may be doing the accumulation we've seen from 11/12 thru 11/21. I'm still waiting for mid-December for news.

But heck, if it is IBM, I'm not opposed (if the price is right).

P.S. If ASND spurned IBM, there is always COMS.

i don't want to be critical, but creating your own news story and then placing a reference to it in the news thread entitles you to one beating with a dead carp.

exchange2000.com

you may also want to send this out to all the major news organizations, i can see you and maria on tv in the morning discussing this "rumor".

keep up the creativity.

<< IBM has been purchasing asnd stock, for 4 weeks now.>> This would make a lot of sense for ibm. Msft kicked their butt, Dell kicked their butt, csco kicked the main frames in the butt. It's about time they got their act together and took the lead in something. It would seem they most likely have gotten rid of all the prima donnas who thought that nobody could touch the great IBM. Big blue got black and blue in the last few years not withstanding their price rise in the last year. With their world wide clout, they could act like a 1000 lb. gorilla with ASND as their lead into the internet. The internet is growing and will grow especially with the $ 200. couch keyboards coming to market. If I were on the board of directors, I would be screaming that it's time to get the act together and start making a name for ibm instead of letting bill gates take all the bows. Somebody has got to have some pride somewhere. With a little bit of effort they could be like AT&T of old of the internet.
