Fascinating ... Our different needs / wants in terms of communication. I like my stationary PC's because I can / have to leave it behind. Yup, there is a laptop but it stays at home. I reluctantly own / pay for one of these dumb dumb cell phones which resides in the charger unless we go for remote hikes. Shit happens .... It's a highly unlikely unnecessary lifeline. Keeping in touch with kids ... For what reason? They are out. of the "den". They can choose whatever they want to choose and hearing from them is of no benefit aside from knowing that they are still alive and even that is doubtful as anyone could send text messages from their gismos. This need for us to stay connected is a curse. JMHO
