mindmeld=> You are putting words in my mouth and claiming I said things that I never did. I'll address your post, point by point.

I don't understand why you are finding it so difficult to believe in the might of America and always keep comparing this country to countries like Greece, Europe etc. America is very different from the rest of the world. It is very very capable of moving forward at a pace that no world economy can. But like any other country it needs that initial push to get going. Cheney and his henchmen suckered the US by taking all from the economic sector and putting the monies in fighting worthless wars. The damage from having done so is so intense that unlike past recessions, this one would need a "trauma centre" type treatment in the form of a stimulus.

mindmeld=> I agree with you whole heartedly about the wars damaging our economy. But I disagree with what the push should look like to get it going again.

So comparing American with Europe and Greece etc. etc. or equating the financial model with that of a family's model is completely off base. Before removing the QE, Obama needs to restore the revenues which comes from sources such as during the Clinton boom years i.e taxes. Even the Bush folks and the Congress during his time realized that those tax cuts needed to be temporary. I think it is a big mistake for Obama to extend that "temporary nature of those cuts in favor of continuing the experiment". Notice how the jobs were lost during the years of the Bush tax cuts. It is not working and that stimulus to the rich need to be stopped first..

mindmeld=> I have never said I am for giving tax cuts to the rich and have never said I am in favor of continuing the Bush tax cuts. In point of fact, I have been railing against those tax cuts since Bush was President. I have said they were tax cuts that the people didn't ask for and didn't need. And if you have read my posts, then you know I am the most vociferous defender of the 99% on these threads. I absolutely abhor the favoritism that Obama and Bernanke pay to the 1% with their economic and monetary policies that are creating a beautiful recovery for the 1% at the expense of the 99%.

Why are you so against the general stimulus but favor the stimulus for the rich as manifested by the tax cuts they continue to receive. I am very sore on Obama for his decision to continue with t he stimulus for the rich, which includes him and more so for Romney. But I am not for Romney either because he surely would not cut his benefits that he is getting now. Instead he and his gang of folks would want a larger pie of that stimulus for the rich at the expense of the poor.

mindmeld=> Read my post above. I am the biggest defender of the 99% on this thread.

We need stimulus money for our nation building instead of building of things like second storey car garages, a house in every state etc. etc. And what is worse is to flaunt that saying that it is not necessay to apologize because of being "stinking rich."

mindmeld=> Yes, I agree.

Coming to you from Bangalore India where the economy is booming because of the capital of the American capitalists. Or should I now say American imperialists.

mindmeld=> Well, Chinu, I pretty much agree with most of your post. You should try reading my posts before you accuse me of things I never said. You and I are more alike than you think. If you really read what Ted and RW post, you'd see that they are touting policies that the GOP loves and that every Dem should hate, but because Obama is doing it, they are giving him a pass. To me that is hypocrisy.
