In formal education , a curriculum is the set of courses, and their content, offered at schools and univerisities. Kids, students, and or young adults, need to come home and study what they learn to reinforce and commit to 'Long Term' memory what was discussed in class. Parents that are involved with their children seldom complain about their child's educational progress. This is not a one way affair. This is, in fact, a two way affair between a student's teacher and the student's Parents. The fact that Politicians would rather find fault, as has always been the case, ( no child left behind...bla,bla bla) with those who teach the curriculums is no surprise to me. God forbide that politicians actually do there own 'homework' and make productive use of their own time to correct governmental policies that continually fail their electorate as a whole. Instead, these clowns would rather point fingers at others who have commited much of their lives in hard labor to try and help others mainly the young. These Politicians point fingers at a fabric of society who choose to 'teach' instead of steal, rob and or commit Corp. malfeasance in their quest for profits. There was a time when a teacher held some respect in this country, but not today. No I disagree that Public Schools are scams or hoaxes. They are in fact institutions of learning! But instead of pointing fingers at teachers that teach in Public schools and their unions that protect the very essence of their working conditions. Maybe, just maybe, these phoney politicians might point the blame where it truley belongs; with Mom and Pop and or whoever else is at home that responds to the name 'primary care giver. Those that care enough about their offspring spring into action when necessary. Children today are bombarded with distractions of every imaginable electronical devise known to man and given by working parents who simply do not have the time or mental fortitude to intervene enough to stop the madness. Some parents are tired from working two jobs to make ends meet in the middle and find it difficult to sit down and do home work with their children. And this does is not even consider how many single family parents there are today. Don't get me wrong here, there are many good parents and signal family parents who do strive to provide a proper setting for their children's educational needs. These folk are the exception not the rule thou. Why is it that many foreign children do so well in school and yet have to deal with a lanuage barrier too? If one looked deep enough they would find a home life that mandates above all else emphasis on education. We, as parents, primary care givers, are ultimately responsible for how our children fair in school, imo. It is so easy to blame the teacher and or the 'Public school system as a whole, anyone but ourselves. This is the larger part of our problem today as a nation, imo. We take no responsibility for our actions. We would rather blame everyone else for our misfortunes and failures. The problem in education today is parental, imo.
