Now that CHKR and RLLY are under the same mgmt and are sharing
administrative resources, I wonder if we going to finally see a merging of these two companies. I can tell you from my perspective that I recently went to a Rally's in Memphis while on business just
to check it out. They advertised a "BIG BUFORD." Sort of a double
cheeseburger. Now this site was next to Graceland, Elvis's home/
museum. I was very disappointed. The place was
dingy looking, overstaffed, with slow service and the food was greasy
and unappealing. Now Checkers is a totally different story. The
ones I visit in Pensacola are clean and seem to be better managed.
The Chilli cheeseburgers are great and service is fast. Now I
realize this is one customer's opinion based on a non-scientific
polling, but customer's are not scientific - they know what they
like. I guess my bottom line feeling is that the stores need to be
more standardized and merged together using the best of both companies. The menus merged as well. One or the other of the
companies has to go, my vote is RLLY's. Let Checkers survive and
then maybe, the combined company will be profitable. But I don't believe anything will happen with this stock until economies of scale are reached. I hope this is what mgmt is looking towards.
