CHKR (Checker's Drive-in Restaurants) is a turnaround stock which is currently undervalued (but likely won't be for long...in fact, an insider who works for CKE (which runs Carls Jr. and restructed Checker's debt and helped run their new management team) thinks CHKR will double during the next year). The insider also said that Carls Jr. will possibly take over Checker's completely (with a stock swap). Right now, Carls Jr. has a small stake in Checker's stock. (This information is his OPINION, not illegally obtained company hidden info.)

This stock is very volatile, but somewhat predictable as it moves in an orderly fashion when news comes out. The only bad news that has come out that caused it to be undervalued during the past few months is that CHKR and RLLY (Rally's Hamburgers) intended to merge, but couldn't due to lack of SEC backing.

Recently, the stock has been basing near 1 1/8, but periodically the stock rises suddenly (to 1 25/32 in late June) but falls back to its base. Thus...a good play would be to buy now near the base and sell after it climaxes on a surge (which is easier to tell with this stock than most). Then buy again when it bases again.

This company should begin turning a profit any quarter now (quite possibly this quarter).

What do you all think? This looks like a great buy given the likelihood of the stock doubling in the next year. The downside potential is small as the 52-week low of 23/32 occurred before the debt restructing and management changes last winter.
