For some reason I am blocked trying to explain this rationally but I know it to a certainty - there is a world of difference between greed and acting in our own self interest.

Markets have always been crooked and it's just the nature of beast, but where the US got off on the wrong foot was guaranteeing institutions with the massive bailouts in addition to the obscene spending that has become commonplace elsewhere.
