5/18/12 Contest Update Investors ended the week with long faces following Facebook’s disappointing debut. And the released ASCO abstracts provided few positive surprises for biotechs. At Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 14.73% YTD (vs. up 21.56% YTD a week ago). In comparison, the Nasdaq Biotech Index was up 15.33% YTD (vs. up 21.09% YTD a week ago), while the Nasdaq Composite Index was up 6.67% YTD (vs. up 12.62% YTD a week ago). DONS’ portfolio, up 39.39% YTD, took over the Contest lead, with BIOJIM’s portfolio, up 38.26% YTD, falling to second place and my own portfolio, up 34.65% YTD, remaining in third place. At Friday's close, 9 of the 38 Contest portfolios were now in the red and 18 of the 38 portfolios were beating the NBI. Below is the Top Ten list.
