All crimes against society have causes that usually can be traced back to a dysfunctional person. Maybe the person was born a sociopath or beaten by his parents. But they are all sick (anti social sick) one way or another. Society has every right, and indeed obligation, to remove them from society, to protect society, but not kill them. The death penalty is another barbaric idea we in America lag behind all other western democracies. I don't think any of them have the death penalty. We are backward in the US and it has been the right wing that has kept us backward for hundreds of years!
