I have read that a 100% tax rate on the top 10% of earners in the US would only bring in income to cover 1/3 of last years deficit. As soon as the deflationary period ends (I am a believer in the current deficit spending to create slight inflation) any deficit spending will come around to bite us on the butt in the form of inflation. It is then game over socialism unless Americans want to live with a high VAT.Do you think the Europeans would not have funded socialism through income taxes if they could? I am for a millionare tax and raising capital gains and dividend taxes in the name of fairness but the average American will continue to take it on the chin.We are only losing what was never ours in the first place.During the Great Depression Wall Street and the bankers were allowed to lose. This time our leaders bailed them out and made inequality worse. Why does bastards keep coming to mind?
