Outstanding article! That same scenario was played out in the small California town where I live (about 11,000 population). They did away with a great skating rink and built a HUGE new library. It's mostly empty or used for babysitting kids. The old one was a perfect size for the town... At the same time, they are begging for increased property taxes or the little darlings in our schools will suffer -- suffer, I tell you. LOL!
