Wow, what other retailers are being offered free rent and other perks just to open a store? None that I can think of.
That is pretty amazing. But then, what other retailer can generate the kind of traffic an Apple store creates?

I still find it funny to think about the people who said Apple stores would fail like the Gateway stores did.

That's what an anchor can get.

Free rent, build-out allowances, tax abatements. Reduced impact fees. And more. Anchors get great deals to bring in traffic so a landlord can get good rent, better rent, and full rent from others.

But Apple does not have a
"net worth nearing half-a-trillion dollars".

I don't know what Salt Lake City, Utah sales tax is (about 5.70%), but with $12,500 sales per square foot or more, i'd bet that Apple Store will bring in more for the city and state than any other tenant in the City Creek Center.
