If only investing was that easy. Not everyone bought Bay on 1/1/97. If you are a longterm investor vs. a trader, Cisco has been the better investment. They are only 2.5% off of their all-time high, while Bay is 28.5% off their all-time high. Further, Bay is basically flat on a 12 month basis, while cisco is up over 40%. Read the post preceding yours to understand the dilemma; only when Bay can post predictably growing rev and earnings will WS consider Bay to be in the cisco ballpark. All that said, as Cruiser knows, I remain one of the longest holding Bay/SNPX sharelholders out there(almost 9 years). Over the same time period, on a buy and hold strategy, I would have made alot more money with cisco. With a crystal ball, I could have made more trading in and out of SNPX/BAY. Unfortunately, I had to sell my crystal ball to meet a margin call on Bay. We will see what 1998 brings.
