All I can say is that her books tend to be long, to deal with ideas, and yet I couldn't put them down. I did not find her skills to be mediocre at all, but that is a matter of opinion.

Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead codified what my father and grandmother tried to instill......individuality. I read those (and others by Rand) at a very impressionable age. I also read "1984" around the same time and that one really scared the beejeezus out of me.

still, Atlas Shrugged and Fountainhead are two of the most important books that I ever read.

What little I read about Ayn Rand, made me think she was a liberal at heart. Am I wrong?
