Where we're you when Bush fought two wars on a credit card. There were many of us who said no Iraq war by borrowing money. There is no AQ in Iraq. But the military industrial complex didn't listen. They well hell bent on taking money from money from our children and just blowing it uu in smoke with nothing to show that they could use. Here, we can give them a booming economy in return It is my opinion when you determine it is necessary to go to war, you do it, regardless of cost or how it is to be paid for. War is a legitimate function of government, and a prime responsibility of our federal government. You do what you have to to defend the country. I will not engage with you on whether or not it was necessary. We certainly would disagree about it. And not to be outdone, Bush proceeded to give tax breaks during time of war. Of course; the economy was sagging as a result of the recession and the attacks. Cutting taxes, as I pointed out, is one of the few things government can actually do about a lousy economy. History tells us that a main factor that Winston Churchill's Great Britain could withstand the onslaught of Hitler's Germany was because Churchill raised taxes to fund Britain's war against Germany. And what did George do? Cutting taxes increased tax revenue as my previous post showed. I'm not sure what you're complaining about. And you need to stop the liberal/conservative nonsense here. You can state and defend your views with the nonsense hurling of such terms. We have several folks with views that are in the minority on this thread. But if you notice they do not use those phrases. That makes it a shouting match and drowns any modicum of a civilized exchange. Well, it is your board so if those are your rules, fair enough. But trying to ban the use of important and useful descriptive language seems silly. I would point out that I was responding to a post in which "conservatives" were being bashed. Is it your policy that it is okay to use "conservative" to bash conservatives, but it is not okay to characterize someone as a liberal?
